Biografia (en Alemán): Regisseur des amerikanischen Stummfilms. Begann als Shauspieler, dann Regisseur und Produzent am Suburban Garden Theatre in St. Louis, später an der Academy of Music in New York. William Fox engagierte in als Regisseur 1914 fĂĽr seine Gesellschaft Fox Film Corporation. In der Folge inszenierte Edwards mehr als 20 Filme mit dem Vamp-Star Theda Bara - die meisten dieser Filme gelten als verschollen. Die letzten Filme drehte Edwards fĂĽr Fox in Rom, so auch das historische Drama "Nero".
Sein Enkel ist der Regisseur Blake Edwards.
