Biographical Notes in German: eigentlich Johanna Knoteck, Ausbildung in Wien an der Akadeie für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, begann als 20 jährige ihre Kinokarriere mit einer Hauptrolle in der Ludwig Ganghofer Verfilmung "Schloss Hubertus". Schon hier wurde der Typ festgelegt, der sie zum Publikumsliebling machte. Sie war mit ihrer Natürlichkeit und Anmut die Idealbesetzung für junge Mädchen und Frauen, die geradlinig ihren Weg gehen, hilfsbereit zu allen, zart, aber nicht verzärtelt, gefühlsbetont, aber nicht schwärmerisch.
