Kenneth Loach was born on June 17, 1936 in Nuneaton. He is an English Director, known for 11'09''01 - September 11 (2002), Kes (1969), Fatherland (1986), Kenneth Loach's first movie on record is from 1967. His last motion picture on file dates from 2016.
Biographical Notes in German: Seine Karriere begann 1961 bei der BBC, wo er eine Serie von Doku-Dramen realisierte. Eines dieser Dramen, "Cathy Come Home" (1965), beschäftigt sich mit dem Problem städtischer Obdachlosigkeit. Er wurde der umstrittenste Film, der jemals von der BBC produziert wurde, und führte unmittelbar zu Gesetzesänderungen. Sein Kinodebüt gab Ken Loach 1968 mit "Poor Cow - geküsst und geschlagen", gefolgt von "Kes" (1970). Nach einer Durststrecke in den 80er Jahren gelang Loach 1990 mit dem in Nordirland angesiedelten Polit-Thriller "Geheimprotokoll" ein weiterer Erfolg. Der Film gewann den Jurypreis in Cannes. Darauf folgten unter anderem "Raining Stones" (1993), "Land and Freedom" (1995), "Carla's Song" (1996), "My Name is Joe" (1998) und "Bread and Roses" (2000). (ARTE Presse)
