He was an American Director, Actor, Author, known for When ladies meet (1933), Made on Broadway (1933), Dance, Fools, Dance (1931), Harry Beaumont's first movie on record is from 1912. He was married to Hazel Daly. Harry Beaumont died on December 22, 1966 in Santa Monica, California, USA. His last motion picture on file dates from 1947.
Biographical Notes in German: Schauspieler und Regisseur des amerikanischen Films, eigentlich Louis de Beaumont. Anfänglich als Schauspieler in New York Vaudevilles, kam Beaumont um 1912 zu Edison. 1915 debütierte er als Regisseur in "The Call of the City", ab 1918 nur noch als Regisseur tätig. Zu seinen bekanttesten Filmen zählen John Barrymores "Beau Brummel" (1924) und "Our Dancing Daughters" (1928) mit Joan Crawford. Sein erster Tonfilm "The Broadway Melody" in 1929 gewann den Academy Award als Bester Film, und Beaumont wurde als Bester Regisseur nominiert. Seinen letzten Film drehte er 1948.
