Ressel Orla was born on May 18, 1889 in Bozen. She was a German Actress, known for Halbblut (1919), Der goldene See (1919), Die Spinnen II - Das Brillantenschiff (1920), Ressel Orla's first movie on record is from 1913. Ressel Orla died on July 23, 1931 in Berlin. Her last motion picture on file dates from 1929.
Biographical Notes in German: auch "Ressel Orla" oder "Resel Orla"; Schauspielerin des Deutschen Stummfilms, eigentlich Therese Ochs, gebürtig aus Bozen. Theaterdebut 1907 in Hannover, 1912 nach Berlin an verschiedene Theater, wo sie vor allem Rollen von Salondamen spielte. Erste Filmrollen um 1913, hatte sie vor allem in den frühen Zwanziger Jahren grosse Erfolge auf der Leinwand, unter anderem in den Filmen "Die Spinnen" oder "Halbblut" von Fritz Lang. Ihr letzter bekannter Film war Viertel "Abenteuer eines Zehnmarkscheines" 1926. Nach langer Krankheit starb die Schauspielerin, kaum vierzig Jahre alt, 1931 in Berlin.

Sie verschwand eigentlich aus diesem oder jenem Grund genau so schnell, wie sie aufgestiegen. - Viele ihrer Freunde haben das bedauert, aber es ist nun einmal beim Film so, dass der grosse Stern von heute kometengleich am anderen Tage versinkt, um vorläufig nicht wieder aufzuleuchten. (...) Sie hätte sicherlich gerade in der Zeit des Tonfilms noch manche Chance gehabt. Denn sie kam vom Theater und soll eine ausgezeichnete Sängerin und Sprecherin gewesen sein."
