Oskar Sala was born on July 18, 1910 in Greiz, Thüringen. He was a German Composer, known for The Birds (1963), Der Würger von Schloss Blackmoor (1963), Kiss my Blood (1998), Oskar Sala's first movie on record is from 1960. Oskar Sala died on February 27, 2002 in Berlin. His last motion picture on file dates from 1998.
Biographical Notes in German: Oskar Sala war Schüler von Friedrich Trautwein, der 1929 das nach ihm benannte Instrument Trautonium erfunden hatte. Sala hatte es zum Mixtur-Trautonium weiterentwickelt und später auch es zum ersten elektronischen Musikinstrument ausgebaut. In den 30er und 40er Jahren gab es in Deutschland kaum einen Werbefilm, der nicht durch Salas Klangkonstruktionen einen eigenen Charakter erhalten hatte. Alfred Hitchcocks DIE VÖGEL wurde Salas berühmteste Filmkomposition. Sala starb im Alter von 91 Jahren.
