Lyda Salmonova was born on July 14, 1889 in Praha. She was a German Actress, known for Der Golem, wie er in die Welt kam (1920), Der Golem und die Tänzerin (1917), Der Golem (1914), Lyda Salmonova's first movie on record is from 1912. Lyda Salmonova died on November 18, 1968 in Praha. Her last motion picture on file dates from 1923.
Biographical Notes in German: Schauspielerin des deutschen Theaters und Stummfilms, Tanzausbildung in Prag, dann Schauspielstidium am Deutschen Theater in Berlin, erste Rollen 1910 bei Max Reinhardt, in dessen Ebsemble sie bis 1918 verblieb. In den Jahren 1913 bis 1923 war Lyda Salmonova in fast allen Filmen Paul Wegeners dessen Partnerin, auch war sie bis Oktober 1924 mit ihm verheiratet, aus ihrer Ehe stammte der Raketenphsysiker Peter Wegener.
Nach ihren letzten Filmrollen 1923 als Schauspiellehrerin bei der UFA, um 1930 letzte Bühnenrollen und eigene Schauspielschule Lyda Wegener. Nach dem Krieg kehrte Lyda Salmonova nach Prag zurück, wo sie 1968 verstarb. (lhg 2013)
