Biographical Notes
Regisseur des ungarischen Kinos, Kunststudium, anschliessend Theater- und Filmstudium. Nach ersten Arbeiten am Theater als Schauspieler, Bühnenbildner und Regisseur drehte er 1951 seinen Debütfilm. International bekannt wurde Fabri 1956/57 mit "Professor Hannibal", der 1957 den Grossen Preis in Karlovy Vary erhielt. "Die Jungs aus der Paulstrasse" (1969) und "Die Ungarn" (1978) brachten ihm Nominierungen für den Oscar. In Ungarn wurde Fabri mehrfach mit dem Kossuth-Preis ausgezeichnet. (lhg 2012)
