Biographical Notes
Der 1959 in Hannover geborene Martin Langer absolvierte erst eine Ausbildung zum Verwaltungsbeamten, bevor er als Innenrequisiteur, Ton– und Kamera-Assistent und Beleuchter arbeitete. Als Kameramann kam er mit zahlreichen namhaften deutschen Regisseuren zusammen wie zum Beispiel Caroline Link, Detlev Buck, Rainer Kaufmann oder Michael Verhoeven. Mit dem Regisseur Roland Suso Richter verbindet ihn eine besonders enge Zusammenarbeit. Für Richter fotografierte er u.a. den TV-Film „Die Bubi Scholz Story“ (1998), für den er mit dem deutschen Kamerapreis ausgezeichnet wurde, sowie die aufwendige zweiteilige Fernsehproduktion „Der Tunnel“ (2000) und die Kinofilme 14 TAGE LEBENSLÄNGLICH (1997), für den er mit dem Filmband in Gold für die „Beste Kamera“ ausgezeichnet wurde, NICHTS ALS DIE WAHRHEIT (1998) und EINE HANDVOLL GRAS (2000). Für Carlo Rolas Gangster-Melodram „SASS“ (2000) mit Jürgen Vogel und Ben Becker in den Hauptrollen erhielt Langer 2002 den Bayerischen Filmpreis.
Er zeichnete in Marc Rothemunds TV Film „Die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt“ (2002) und in Rothemunds Berlinale-prämiertem Widerstandsdrama SOPHIE SCHOLL - DIE LETZTEN TAGE für die Kamera verantwortlich und ist mit dieser Leistung für den Deutschen Filmpreis 2005 in der Kategorie „Beste Kamera“ nominiert.

1990 und 1991 Eastman Förderpreis;
