Schauspieler und Regisseur des amerikanischen Films, eigentlich Louis de Beaumont. Anfänglich als Schauspieler in New York Vaudevilles, kam Beaumont um 1912 zu Edison. 1915 debütierte er als Regisseur in "The Call of the City", ab 1918 nur noch als Regisseur tätig. Zu seinen bekanttesten Filmen zählen John Barrymores "Beau Brummel" (1924) und "Our Dancing Daughters" (1928) mit Joan Crawford. Sein erster Tonfilm "The Broadway Melody" in 1929 gewann den Academy Award als Bester Film, und Beaumont wurde als Bester Regisseur nominiert. Seinen letzten Film drehte er 1948. Harry Beaumont war mit der Schauspielerin Hazel Daly (1890 - 1987) verheiratet. (lhg 2012)
