Synopsis in German
Die schöne Büglerin Assunta hat einen Verlobten, Michele, und einen Verehrer, Raffaele, der Michele einen anonymen Brief schickt, worin er Assunta der Untreue bezichtigt. Als Assunta auf einem Fest mit Raffaele tanzt, bedroht Michele sie mit einem Messer und verletzt ihr Gesicht. Trotz Assuntas Beteuerungen, dass sie ihn provoziert hätte, wird Michele zu zwei Jahren Haft verurteilt. Durch ein Verhältnis mit einem Gerichtsbeamten kann Assunta erreichen, dass Michele nunmehr in ein Gefängnis nach Neapel transferiert wird. Als Michele frühzeitig entlassen wird, überrascht er den Gerichtsbeamten auf dem Weg zu Assunta. Nach kurzem Kampf flieht Michele und sein Opfer stirbt in der Büglerei. Vor der eintreffenden Polizei nimmt Assunta die ganze Schuld auf sich.... (votivkino.at)
