Synopsis in German
C. R. MacNamara träumt davon, Europa-Direktor für Coca Cola zu werden. Um seine Fähigkeiten zu beweisen, will er den Absatzmarkt seiner Firma von Berlin aus über den Eisernen Vorhang hinaus weit nach Osten ausdehnen, strategisch beraten von Herrn Schlemmer, der seinen devoten Gehorsam offensichtlich aus vergangenen Zeiten hinübergerettet hat. Um sich bei Konzern-Chef Hazeltine zusätzlich beliebt zu machen, nimmt MacNamara dessen verwöhnte Tochter Scarlett während einer Europareise bei sich auf. Sie schafft es, allnächtlich durch das noch offene Brandenbur-ger Tor in den Ost-Sektor durchzubrennen, wo sie sich in den überzeugten Jungkommunisten Otto Ludwig Piffl verliebt hat. Als MacNamara davon erfährt, ist es schon zu spät; die beiden haben geheiratet und wollen sich nach Moskau absetzen. Um das zu verhindern, müssen MacNamara und seine Leute sich mächtig abstrampeln. Man schafft Piffl in den Westen, aber damit ist es keineswegs getan. Scarletts Vater kündigt seinen Besuch in Berlin an, und es bleiben nur 24 Stunden Zeit, um Piffl ideologisch umzufunktionieren und dem kapitalistischen Konzernherrn einen akzeptablen Schwiegersohn zu präsentieren ...
