Synopsis in German
Schlesien im Januar 1945: Gemeinsam mit großen Teilen seiner Dorfgemeinschaft flieht der schlesische Baron Malte nach Westen. Im Bayerischen Wald, wo er mit Schloss Falkenstein ein zweites Anwesen besitzt, lassen sich die Flüchtlinge nieder. Zehn Jahre später sind die Schlesier in der neuen Heimat mit dem Existenzaufbau beschäftigt. Der Baron versucht, eine alte Glashütte auszubauen. Enkel Martin, der inzwischen als Geschäftsmann in Frankreich lebt, soll ihm dabei helfen. Doch der an Erfolg und Gewinn orientierte Martin will Malte dazu überreden, das Schloss zu verkaufen und sich zur Ruhe zu setzen. Maltes Pflegetochter Marianne, in die Martin sich verliebt, bewirkt jedoch einen Sinneswandel. So hilft er den tatkräftigen Schlesiern und kann am Schluss den betrügerischen Verwalter überführen, der auf Maltes Kosten in die eigene Tasche wirtschaftet. (3Sat Presse)
