Synopsis in German
Geld regiert die Welt - das denkt zumindest der Unternehmer Karl Block, als er dem Künstler-Manager Fritz Müllrath ein Geschäft vorschlägt: Müllrath soll seinen Schützling, den berühmten Kammersänger Rudolf Halden, davon überzeugen, mit Blocks Tochter Hella aufzutreten. Block glaubt, sie habe das Zeug zum Weltstar und will ihrer Gesangskarriere auf die Sprünge helfen. Müllrath versucht Halden zu überzeugen, immerhin winken 40.000 Mark Gage. Aber Halden weigert sich mit einer Anfängerin aufzutreten.
Hella und ihr Vater ziehen schließlich gegen Halden vor Gericht: Die Justiz soll entscheiden, ob es für einen Sänger wie Halden unzumutbar ist, mit einer Debütantin aufzutreten. Der willigt schließlich ein, sucht jedoch, um Hella in die Flucht zu schlagen, ein unbekanntes Bauerntheater in der Provinz aus. Doch Hella lässt sich auf das Spiel ein. (3Sat Presse)
