Synopsis in German
Der Film zeigt eine Geographiestunde in einer Schule, in der der Lehrer die ungleichen Besitzverhältnisse in Frankreich aufzeigt. Dann folgt eine Darstellung des kommunistischen Kampfes durch den Herausgeber der kommunistischen Zeitung L’Humanité: ein arbeitsloser alter Arbeiter wird wieder in die Gesellschaft eingegliedert, einem Bauer wird geholfen, seinen Besitz vor der Zwangsversteigerung zu retten, und einem jungen Ingenieur wird eine Arbeit vermittelt. Remarks and general Information in German: «Der Film wurde von der französischen kommunistischen Partei in Auftrag gegeben in Hinblick auf die Wahlen im Mai 1936, die der Front Populaire gewann. La Vie est à Nous wurde von einer Gruppe militanter kommunistischer Filmemacher und Techniker gemacht und ist zugleich Dokumentarfilm, eine Montage von Wochenschauausschnitten, eine Anreihung von Szenen und ein politischer Diskurs. Die Zensur verbot den Film, den Renoir zusammen mit Vaillant-Couturier geschrieben hatte. Er konnte nur bei privaten Anlässen gesehen werden, was Renoirs Hoffnung zunichte machte, die Zuschauer mit dem Film von einer kommunistischen Wahl zu überzeugen.» (www.kultur-frankreich.de)
