Synopsis in German
Penny Baxter und seine Frau Orry leben mit ihrem Sohn Jody von den bescheidenen ErtrĂ€gen ihrer kleinen Farm in der Wildnis Floridas. Der beste Freund des elfjĂ€hrigen Jody ist sein Vater. Gemeinsam bestehen die beiden manches Abenteuer. Als Penny ein Reh erschieĂen muss, erlaubt er seinem Sohn, das zurĂŒckgebliebene Rehkitz aufzuziehen. Der Junge ist sehr glĂŒcklich mit seinem neuen Freund und nennt das Kiz "Flag". Doch das junge Reh richtet immer wieder SchĂ€den auf der Farm an. Als Flag erneut Maispflanzen abfrisst, besteht Penny darauf, dass Jody sich von seinem vierbeinigen Freund trennt.
Weinend lĂ€sst Jody Flag im Wald frei. Als das Reh zurĂŒckkehrt, greift Orry zum Gewehr und verletzt das Tier schwer. Jody muss Flag töten. Daraufhin lĂ€uft er von zu Hause fort. (ARD Presse)
