Synopsis in German
Russland, 1885: Auf dem Weg nach Moskau lernt die Amerikanerin Jane Callahan den jungen Offiziersanwärter Andrej Tolstoi kennen. Es ist Liebe auf den ersten Blick. Wie Andrej ist auch Jane auf dem Weg zum Zarenhof. Dort soll sie im Auftrag des alten amerikanischen Erfinders Douglas McCracken Geldgeber für die Konstruktion des "Barbier von Sibirien", einer dampfbetriebenen Abholzungsmaschine, gewinnen. In Moskau angekommen, gibt McCracken Jane zu verstehen, dass es hilfreich wäre, wenn sie eine Affäre mit dem mächtigen General Radlov anfinge. (3SatPresse)
