Synopsis in German
Werbefilm für die 6. Kriegsanleihe. Mutter Froehlich erhält auf der Goldsammelstelle für ihre Uhr einen Hundertmarkschein. Mutter Froehlich läßt sich von der Straßenbahnschaffnerin Lehmann für 20 Mark Groschen geben. Zu Hause packt sie die Groschen in ein Feldpostpäckchen und schickt es ihrem Sohn, der an der Front steht. Im Unterstand öffnet er das Päckchen und liest den Brief seiner Mutter. Plötzlich erfolgt ein französischer Feuerüberfall. Nach dem Angriff besichtigt Leutnant Hochstedt den zerschossenen Unterstand und findet einen Groschen, den er als Glücksbringer einsteckt. Auf einem Melderitt wird er von der Kugel eines versprengten Franzosen getroffen. Im Lazarett stellt sich heraus, daß ihm der Glücksgroschen das Leben gerettet hat, worauf er ihn seiner Braut schickt. Mieze Lehmann erhält 100 Mark als Arbeitslohn in der Munitionsfabrik. Mutter Froehlich verkauft vor dem “eisernen Hindenburg” an der Siegessäule Spendenkarten, die Leutnant Hochstedt’s Braut mit dem Glücksgroschen bezahlt. Mit ihrem Sparstrumpf geht Mutter Froehlich zur Nachbarin Mieze Lehmann und tauscht ihre Spargroschen gegen den Hundertmarkschein ein, mit dem sie nun Kriegsanleihe zeichnet.
