Synopsis in German
Im Jahre 1917 wird ein deutscher U-Bootkommandant mit einem riskanten Geheimauftrag zu den Orkney-Inseln im Norden Schottlands entsandt. Dort soll er sich mit einer Agentin treffen, um mit ihrer Hilfe über einen verräterischen englischen Marineoffizier wichtige Informationen für einen vernichtenden Schlag gegen die britische Flotte zu beschaffen. Die gewagte Aktion nimmt einen abenteuerlichen Verlauf. In diesem Meisterwerk des Spionage-Genres gelang eine faszinierende Mischung aus kriegsdüsterer Atmosphäre und komischen Glanzlichtern, ausgefeilten Dialogszenen und großen Action-Sequenzen.
