Remarks and general Information in German: «Über das Schicksal der Regisseure in der UdSSR der direkten Nachkriegsjahre weiß man nicht allzu viel. Rappaport jedenfalls wurde in die Estnische SSR geschickt, um in Tallinn das nationale Filmstudio aufzubauen. Vier Spielfilme drehte er dort, zunächst LEBEN IN DER ZITADELLE, der heute – insbesondere in Estland – als nicht ganz unproblematisch erachtet wird. Wie Mamlock will auch Professor Mijlas neutral sein – doch die Zeiten sprechen dagegen. Seine Söhne haben sich schon entschieden: der eine mordet auf der Seite der Nazis, der andere siegt mit der Roten Armee.» (filmmuseum.at)
