Synopsis in German
Eadie Chapman (Jean Harlow) ist sich zu schade für die Provinzkneipen ihres Stiefvaters, darum brennt sie mit ihrer Freundin Kitty (Patsy Kelly) nach New York durch. Dort will sie ihre Netze nach einem gutbetuchten Herrn auswerfen. Der erste Wurf geht daneben. Frank Cousins (Lewis Stone), der Eadie finanziell sehr attraktiv erscheint, ist leider bankrott und zieht daraus betrübliche Konsequenzen. So nimmt Eadie zielstrebig den hartgesottenen Geschäftsmann T. R. Paige (Lionel Barrymore) ins Visier. Weder in Konferenzsälen noch auf seiner Yacht ist der alte Herr vor ihren überfällen sicher. Mit verblüffendem Erfolg: Statt Paige senior hat plötzlich Paige junior (Franchot Tone) angebissen. Und der junge Tom Paige ist in die temperamentvolle Abenteurerin so verliebt, dass er sie tatsächlich heiraten will. Eadie strahlt, aber Toms Vater ist dagegen. Um die Heirat zu verhindern, sorgt er dafür, dass die unerwünschte Schwiegertochter hinter Gitter kommt. Doch auch dort gibt Eadie sich keineswegs geschlagen ... (mdr Presse)

Wie in der zwei Jahre zuvor entstandenen Komödie 'Feuerkopf' spielt Jean Harlow auch hier wieder die verführerische Schöne, die es auf Männer mit Geld abgesehen hat. Diesmal allerdings wurde sie von der Drehbuchautorin Anita Loos mit dem festen Vorsatz ausgestattet, Schäferstündchen erst nach der Hochzeit zu gewähren, um nicht ärger mit einer ängstlich gewordenen Zensur zu riskieren.
