Synopsis in German
Spanien zur Zeit des napoleonischen Einmarsches. Als das Volk rebelliert, schickt Napoleon General Guillaume mit seinen Truppen, der den Widerstand brechen soll. In Olivera decken die französischen Soldaten eine Verschwörung auf, deren Anführer Don Perez ist. Er ist der Verlobte Juanas, der Tochter des Marques de Barrios, auf dessen Schloss die französischen Truppen einquartiert sind. General Guillaume, ein Weiberfeind, lässt de Barrios verhaften. Als Juana für den Vater und den Bruder bittet, verliebt er sich in sie will sie besitzen. Entweder wird sie seine Frau oder Vater und Bruder werden erschossen. Widerwillig gibt sie ihr Jawort und schwört am Altar Rache. Als Guillaume versetzt wird, desertiert er, nur um sie wiederzusehen, und setzt sich ihr schutzlos aus. Doch als sie ihn erstechen will, entreißt er ihr die Waffe und tötet sie. Dann trifft ihn das gleiche Schicksal durch die Kugel eines Eindringlings. (www.filmportal.de)
