Synopsis in German
Ein junger Priester findet an der Kirchhofsmauer ein ohnmächtiges Mädchen, eine Zigeunerin, und nimmt sie mit zu sich und seiner Mutter nach Hause. Militza ist aus einem Wanderzirkus geflohen, um sich vor den Belästigungen eines eifersüchtigen Clowns zu retten, der ihretwegen schon einen Menschen erstochen hat. Der Priester verliebt sich schnell in sie und behält sie gegen den Willen der Mutter bei sich.
Als während eines Gottesdienstes der Blitz in die Kanzel einschlägt, wird der Priester getötet. Nun wird Militza von der abergläubigen Gemeinde verfolgt. Ein junger Graf nimmt sie zu sich auf sein Schloss, ganz in der Nähe des Dorfes. Die Dorfbewohner verlangen vom Grafen, dass er sie wegschicke. Als er nicht nachgibt, wird Militza von der aufgebrachten Menge gesteinigt. (filmportal.de)
