Synopsis in German
Baronin Rita (Magda Sonja) betrügt ihren Mann. In der Sommerfrische lernt sie den Hirten Sepp (Hubert Marischka) kennen. Sie engagiert ihn für eine gemeinsame Bergtour mit ihrem Gatten. In den Felswänden der Rax umgarnt sie ihn so lange, bis diesem das Seil aus den Händen gleitet. Der Baron stürzt in die Tiefe. Sepp wird der fahrlässigen Tötung bezichtigt und muss ins Gefängnis. Er tröstet sich mit der Hoffnung auf das gemeinsame Glück mit der Baronin. Die aber hat ihn bloß als Werkzeug benutzt und lebt längst mit ihrem eigentlichen Liebhaber zusammen. Am Tag seiner Entlassung eilt Sepp zu Rita, begegnet dort dem verliebten Paar und tötet Rita. Verbittert kehrt Sepp freiwillig ins Gefängnis zurück.
