French title: Robin des bois Reviews in German: Der zweiteilige Film mit einer Dauer von beinahe zweieinhalb Stunden galt für lange Zeit als verloren (siehe Kevin Brownlow`s THE PARADES GONE BY). Während der erste sich mehr auf König Richard Löwenherz und seinen Kreuzzug in die Heilige Stadt konzentriert, der zweite Teil ist erst dem eigentlichen ROBIN HOOD gewidmet, wo Douglas Fairbanks seine Paraderolle schlechthin findet, als treuer Vasall seines Herren König Richard gegen die Intrigen des schlechten Königsbruders Prince John (Sam de Grasse wiederum als Bösewicht).

Die Bauten und Massenszenen waren seinerzeit spektakulär, und der Film bleibt auch noch achtzig Jahre nach seinem Entstehen unterhaltsam und voll Humor, selbst in der eher statischen ersten Hälfte. Manche der Schauspieler wirken neben Douglas Fairbanks, der den Film selbst auch produzierte, eher etwas blass, so Wallace Beery als Richard Löwenherz oder Alan Hale als Huntingdons treuer Diener Little John.
