Abenteuer eines Griesgrams, der sich zum Menschenfreund entwickelt.
Reviews in German: Die Wandlung des griesgrämigen Geldverleihers zum Philantropen, gemischt mit einer kleinen Detektivgeschichte um Falschgeld, ist flüssig mit einer Schar guter Schauspieler erzählt. Dwan verwendet relativ lange Einstellungen, in welchen die Szenen sich entwickeln, etwa das Einrichten des neuen Zimmers von ==. Eine bemerkenswerte Faszination geht von dem Travelling aus, wenn David das Haus verlässt und von den Dorfbewohnern begrüsst durch die Stadt geht.
