Synopsis in German
Baron Karel (Holmes Herbert), ein alter Schlossherr in Böhmen, ist das Opfer eines Vampirs geworden. Das glauben jedenfalls die abergläubischen Bewohner der abgelegenen Gegend, und auch Dr. Doskil (Donald Meek) teilt ihre Meinung, als er am blutleeren Körper des toten Barons zwei Bissmale entdeckt. Inspektor Neumann (Lionel Atwill) aus Prag ist da natürlich anderer Meinung, immerhin lässt er sich bei seinen Untersuchungen von Professor Zelen (Lionel Barrymore) beraten, der sich mit dem Vampirwesen auskennt. Irgend etwas scheint tatsächlich an dem alten Volksglauben dran zu sein, denn Baron Karels hübsche Tochter Irena (Elizabeth Allan) und ihr Verlobter Fedor (Henry Wadsworth) sind offenbar auch von Vampiren bedroht. Der tote Graf Mora (Bela Lugosi) und seine bleiche Tochter Luna (Carol Borland) gehen nachts in der Schlossanlage um, und auch Baron Karel scheint zu einem Vampir geworden zu sein ... (ARD Presse)
