Eine illustre Gesellschaft muss eine Nacht auf einer kleinen Bahnstation verbringen und erfährt von mysteriösen Spukgeschichten. Die visuell sehr einfallsreich gestaltete Kriminalkomödie entstand in deutsch-englischer Koproduktion... (Stummfilmtage Bonn 2010)

Reviews in German: «Es ist schwer zu erkennen, wie weit die guten Einfälle schon von den Autoren erdacht waren, wie weit sie vom Regisseur gefunden wurden. Das Resultat ist jedenfalls dem innigen Zusammenarbeiten von Regisseur und Autoren zu verdanken: größtes Verdienst beider Teile. Was Geza von Bolvary-Zahn bisher gezeigt hatte, ließ eine derartige Leistung bei weitem nicht erwarten. Man kann nicht feststellen, ob von Bolvary-Zahn bei seinen früheren Arbeiten irgendwie gehemmt war, aber man kann feststellen, daß er mit diesem Film in die Reihe der guten Regisseure gerückt ist, die in der deutschen Filmindustrie arbeiten. Vielleicht ist er eine Spezialität, aber diese seine Begabung einschränkende Annahme scheint nach dem, wie er den ersten Akt dieses Filmes gebracht hat, nicht einmal berechtigt.» (Reichsfilmblatt, Nr. 44/1927 )
