Synopsis in German
Baron von Bode will in die Hochalpen in Urlaub fahren. Vor der Bergtour aber lässt er sein Leben auf eine Million Franc versichern. Auf der Straße kann er der Baronin Lucie Ruß das Leben retten und gerät in ein merkwürdiges Abenteuer. Seine Versicherungspolice wird gestohlen, und aus den Alpen weist er den Berliner Detektiv Voß an, den Dieb suchen. Der hat auch bald die Spur eines Verdächtigen, die er bis zum Urlaubsort des Barons verfolgt, wo er sich mit seiner Assistentin als Ehepaar verkleidet einnistet. Es kommt zu merkwürdigen Bergunfällen des Barons, die er aber immer überlebt. Währenddessen verfolgt der Detektiv weiter den Verdächtigen - der sich schließlich als Agent der Versicherung entpuppt, der dem Baron mehrmals das Leben gerettet hat. Die Baronin Ruß ist die wahre Verbrecherin. (F.W. Murnau Stftung)
