Synopsis in German
Yvette und Louise, zwei lebenslustige junge Frauen, wohnen im Haus der strengen Madame Vasal. Yvette, die der Wirtin 100 Franken schuldet, lernt in einem Café den charmanten Gaston kennen. Der findet Yvette zwar überaus reizend, ist jedoch alles andere als erfreut darüber, dass das Mädchen von allen Gästen freudig begrüßt wird, als hätte sie mit jedem bereits eine Affäre gehabt.
Als ein gewisser Monsieur Borell Yvettes Gunst erringen möchte, indem er ihr heimlich einen 100-Franken-Schein zuschiebt, schlägt ihn der eifersüchtige Borell nieder. Er will Yvette das Geld aus eigener Tasche vorstrecken, wird aber von ihr zurückgewiesen. Kurz darauf lernt Yvette den Komponisten Adolphe kennen - die beiden verlieben sich auf den ersten Blick ineinander, doch es gelingt dem hinterhältigen Borell einen Keil zwischen sie zu treiben, indem er Adolphe über Yvettes lockere Lebensweise aufklärt. Auch Adolphes Mutter ist gegen die Bindung ihres Sohnes mit Yvette - doch alle Versuche, ihn von seiner Geliebten zu trennen, misslingen. Dennoch geben Gaston und die Mutter nicht auf: sie intrigieren weiter, bis es am Abend der Premiere von Adolphes erster Sinfonie zur Katastrophe kommt. (www.filmportal.de)
