Tauber aufgenommen. Zu Darstellern hat man sich berühmte Künstler ausgesucht. Eugen Burg spielt den Robert sehr lustig, Ferdinand Bonn den Bertram mit starker Farbgebung, Wilhelm Diegelmann in humorvoller Behäbigkeit den Gefängniswärter Strambach, Ernst Lubitsch geradezu genial den Kommis Max Edelstein. Und dennoch: aus dem Stoff hätte mehr herausgeholt werden können.
